In addition to US stamps I collect Israel stamps. I often find that I need sizes for mounts for Israel stamps that don't exist and have to go 3-4 mm larger. I like the size guide on Global Stamps but just am wondering if something is better out there.

Just buy strips and cut them to size. You'll probably find that a range if strips have the same price, in which case buy the largest for maximum flexibility. |

The ebay sellers Peter Billis International and "danthestampman" regularly offer lots of mounts. Global Stamps remains reliable and well stocked. I order from them at least once a year. |

I prefer Global for mounts, but IHobb is a decent alternative:

Best selection is relative to the type of mounts you want. I use clear Hawid strips for my international stuff, so I just google for them, and have settled on Wizard and iHobb. I use pre-cut Showgard/Prinz for US except I use 27mm strips for early taller stamps. I use a Lighthouse cutter, it has stood the test of time. Mounts for modern US for souvenir sheets can get pricy.
I keep a collection of Howids 21, 24, 26, 27.5, 29, 33, 36, 39, 44 & 55. I probably have a significant amount of dollars invested in mounts, as compared to stamps. |

I order stamps mounts mostly from AmosAdvantage (formerly Scott Publishing) and from Global Stamps, both of whom have similar prices, a very wide variety usually in stock, and who both ship promptly.
I also collect U.S. and Israel stamps and dozens of other countries in specialized albums, and these suppliers are fine for them, including Israel stamps with tabs. I keep a large stock of mounts on hand stored mostly in tackle boxes (shallow plastic boxes with lids) for convenient access. I'm a veritable assembly line for mounting stamps. I restock my stock of mounts at least once a year with a very large order -- sometimes more often. |

I would add to my earlier post that I wholeheartedly agree with having a large stock of mounts on hand. There's nothing more disappointing than getting psyched up to place a new, long sought after stamp into its new home only to discover you don't have a mount that fits properly! |

I use Global and iHobb and switch when one doesn't have what I need in stock. iHobb used to show up at local shows and would bring your order so you didn't have to pay postage, but they don't do it anymore. |

Wonfish's original question said "I often find that I need sizes for mounts for Israel stamps that don't exist and have to go 3-4 mm larger."
That is not really an issue. They do exist. Mounts come in all sizes, small, medium, large, and gigantic. All my Israel stamps are in mounts that fit just fine -- and they're all Israeli stamps with "tabs" on them which makes them bigger than normal. |

My mount collection includes different sizes for Perma Guard, Showguard, Scott, Prinz, Davo, and even some Crystal for my cheap mint stamps. |
