I've never seen one of these in person, so I have no clue. It did come in a pretty nice collection, though. Any help is appreciated!

Dang it. I didn't buy the collection for that particular stamp but would have been nice if it was real. Thanks for your help!

As long as it was offered as a 367 and not a 369.

Regarding the 5 Dollar State Department Official O69, even the experts get it wrong sometimes. At today's Sparks auction #53 they had offered a copy just like yours with the word "Facsimile" in the upper label. This wasn't caught before the catalog was printed but fortunately someone noticed the problem before the sale began and the lot was withdrawn.

I wonder how many "general collector" people were duped with these over the years.

These FALSH and Facsimile stamps remind me of the story of the 1875 Newspaper stamp facsimiles that I just posted in another thread.

The creators of the facsimiles did not intend for these imitations to get confused with genuine stamps, but the quality was so good that there was ample opportunity for general collectors to get deceived, so they started overprinting them with FACSIMILE in increasingly larger sizes, but collectors still complained about the practice so they eventually stopped creating them.
