Hi all! Sorry if this has already been asked. And sorry if I don't use the most correct terminology, I'm new.

Is there a way to know what the USPS' schedule is on what cancellations they use? Currently, I've been getting mail with cancellations about dogs bite awareness. Would be fun to get that over a Snoopy stamp. Is there a way to know what the schedule is? I asked my local PO and they didn't know.

The dog bite awareness postmark is pretty widespread out there, at least here in Minnesota

most sprayed on's are basically seasonal repeats. dog bites for summer, holiday designs in October-Dec.. Patriotic in July. The exact design Is probably posted in advance in the USPS weekly Postal Bulletin. The general public can get a yearly subscription, but I do not have that info or cost.

The "Postal Bulletin" is now published every two weeks and contains announcements for some of the pictorial cancels. In the past, they also listed announcements to postmasters when they were permitted to insert various slogans in their machines. I have not seen this recently since local machines have been almost universally withdrawn, but have not looked in the Bulletin vary far. The link to the current Bulletins is here, with the May 29, 2025 issue containing considerable information on the dog campaign:
https://about.usps.com/resources/po...bulletin.htm

The challenge with obtaining these spray cancels is that they are used in the high-speed facing/cancelling equipment at regional processing centers and may not be programmed to all cancelling heads/machines (or different slogans or wavy lines to different heads). Thus it is no surprise that ANY local post office would be ignorant of the temporary promotional cancels at their regional center.
Mail dropped in a curbside blue box or handed over a PO counter may or may not get you the desired cancel (or any cancel!!). Other than chance, the hurdle is finding a processing center clerk who knows how to insert your mail in the desired canceling stream. It is unlikely that a mail-in request will produce results, but that may be the next best choice than randomly mailing yourself a lot of letters and hoping.

Add: for those who have not yet seen one, here is a clear imprint from the back of a recent cover.
