Has anyone seen any listings for the distilled spirits tax stamps from 1952 in denominations of $20,000 up to 50000.00. They were part of the Smithsonian
liquidation from years ago. I can't any dealers offering them. What value do they have since they are not given a Scott number ? Thanks

See: https://bid.siegelauctions.com/powe...SortOrder=-1

Siegel Power Search is always a good place to start for unusual items. They do not seem to list your 1952 denomination even in the unlisted in Scott lots.

Kelleher had a $10,000 1952 (Scott listed) which went unsold.

Edit to add:
Eric Jackson Revenues have none but I would call him and ask. He would be a ble to mention a price, both selling and if you wish to unload, buying.

New question to you. Do you have the 1952 $.01 (one cent) 1952? It, like the $20,000 and up was not issued for use.

As I understand it from some research I have done, the 3 cent through $10,000 dollar values of these stamps carry the date "1952". Other values such as the $20,000 and $50,000 carry the date "1950" and are not very pricey with Mystic selling them for under $100 retail. Am I missing something?

My understanding is that there was a sufficient quantity of the 1950 issues of those values, so there was never a need to issue more.

Thanks for all the information on the stamps. They are series 1950 and not the 1952 issues. The person offering them to me was confused. They all have Scott numbers.

The 2nd Bennette sale of National Postal Museum material back September 2006 had the un-issued 3c and $1500 from the series of 1952 they became known as RX 27 and 42.
