J2186, You do not have your account set to accept emails, so I will ask openly. What are your thoughts as the numbers increase and get harder? Invite posts by incremental ranges? And now for the weekly update: 57: killer from steel duplex 58: Newton, Masachusetts, another Boston area zone number 58: U.S.S. Eagle No 58 59: Newton Center, Masachusetts, another Boston area zone number 59: APO 59 59: parcel post style roller cancel from Cincinnati, Ohio And advancing one increment to 60: 60: double-ring oval handstamp from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 60: Great Britan machine cancel which is identified as "060 = Bournemouth Hants. (Hampshire) 1929-1962 (Geographic county of Dorset)" on page 6 of this useful thread on GB triangular postmarks: https://goscf.com/t/14079&whichpage=1 |

60. From a study of foreign due marks I made some years ago with the following description: Air mail letter 0-5 grams to Kenya. Sufrace fee 60 öre. Air fee 30 öre/5 grams = 30 öre: Total fee 90 öre. Shortpaid 30 öre. Due handstamp indicates double deficiency 60 öre and foreign letter rate 60 öre. 50 c have been charged in Kenya, which was probably the Kenyan surface mail foreign letter rate. |

And another 60: Pallai?, Ceylon @John, At some point we will have to consider ranges. Numbered cancels were used in a number of countries which have not yet been represented in this thread - such as Great Britain, France, Italy, German states, Australian states. These numbers go up a long way - the largest example I have is 5005. But I don't seriously collect these areas, so only have very sporadic examples. For the next while, though, I am only missing 61, 69, 71, 86, 87, and then 127. So with some help, I can go for a while yet. Jan |

I can do a 61 but I can't immediately find any other 60s, my next one is in the 70s. |
