I realize that this is a subjective question, but would appreciate your input. I am a newish collector whom is working with an inherited collection. Which stamp would you prefer to keep? Why?

Without worrying about perfs, shades, etc and assuming all the same stamp, I'd pick C. I eliminated the others based on noticeably clipped perfs. It also has a nice postmark.

Edit: I realized after posting you may not know terms much so I will clarify. The "perfs" mean perforations and refer to the little "teeth" looking things along the outer sides. By "clipped", I mean that the other four stamps have pieces torn/removed/damaged for some of the perfs. C, imo, has the best perfs overall.

It would be helpful to post individual images.

Assuming there are no listed varieties and that this image does not hide anything (not all perforations are visible), C appears to have the best perforations, the cleanest appearance, and an excellent cancellation. However, I have no knowledge of the cancellations. It might be the case that either readable barred numeral (D or E) might be more valuable. Of the two numerals, D isthe clearest.

I tried to reposition the stamps to view the bottom of each. Thank you to those who have responded.

if I had to keep one, C.

but if I would continue to collect, i'd find a better copy, it's not a very expensive stamp.

Obviously C. Are you sure this is Umberto, and not one of his doppelgangers?
