Hello everyone,

I'm 17 and have been developing a growing interest in philately, particularly in areas that don't always get as much attention. My main focus is on revenue stamps, rare small-town cancels, fancy cancels, and older or scarcer issues. What draws me in is the history and individuality each piece carries, there's always something new to learn from them.

I also enjoy the idea of exchanging stamps with fellow collectors. Trading seems like one of the best ways to share, connect, and help each other strengthen our collections, and I'd be glad to explore that with anyone who's interested.

I'm looking forward to being part of the conversations here and learning from the experience and knowledge of others in the community.

Welcome! When you say revenue stamps and cancels, do you mean U.S. revenues or a different country?

I too got my start with revenue cancels... warning: it leads to other more expensive areas.

Thank you for the welcome! I collect both U.S. and foreign revenues, though U.S. issues with interesting cancels are a particular focus. You're right though once you start with revenues, it's easy to find yourself getting pulled into other areas pretty fast..

Welcome to collecting revenues!

As long as you don't buy the things I want of course!!!

If you have not already done so, become a member of The American Revenue Association at https://www.revenuer.org/ .

If interested in state revenues, join the State Revenue Society at https://staterevenue.org/join

Download every historical copy of "The American Revenuer" (TAR) from the website. I search this folder on my external HD constantly.

Also search out and download everything Ron Lesher has ever written if you even think you will ever have an interest in US alcohol related tax stamps, Scott listed or not, even if you aren't currently interested. I promise you will down the line. I am just now digging deeper into things I wish I paid attention to a long time ago!
