I've been looking through a pile of Italian envelopes/letters and have come across these two. Both purport to be the same 10c. I would suppose that at least one of these is a counterfeit, perhaps both as it's catalogued at quite a high price. The darker one's embossed head seems too well pronounced and according to Stampworld's catalogue the colour isn't right. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

A suggestion- A clear scan, of your items would definetly help more rather than blurred photo images.

Both look genuine to me. The 10c went thru several different printings and the Italians recognize several distinct shades in an attempt to categorize. Both correspond to those shades used in respective dates of the 2 covers.
