Looking to find out more information about this package from the Kenmore Stamp Club. Not sure the year.

The contents of the envelope are in the picture.

The letter included in the envelope was calling it the best starter in stamp collecting.

Goes on to talk about the included packages of stamps, and the king's and queen's stamp page.

I am not sure if there is an album or something that goes with this. I am still sorting the box I inherited, but this set looked interesting.

I remember the Kenmore club from the 80's when I was collecting.

Hi
The sheet of royalty figures are only stickers for your use in decorating. Those are not postage stamps for a collection. The stamps in the glassine envelopes are the postage stamps.
Happy collecting!

There, also, is a version with a blue background to the lion en passant and white background to the Tudor Rose. That one lacks the inscription 'Printed in England.'

A very similar sheet of Presidents of the USA can be found online. This may have been issued by an American retailer that also had English branches (hence the 'Printed in England' variant). Another indication it is not from the UK is that it is indeed a sheet of English and not British kings and queens.

Clearly, it was not printed before 1952, since it shows Queen Elizabeth II.

Whether they are "British" or not, they are still called the King / Queen of England.

Thank you for that information about Britain/England. I would not have made that connection.

Additionally, I have no idea when this kit was purchased, but I would assume it was in the 1960s, maybe. It was in a box that I was just given, and I am trying to piece all the items together. And most of the newsletters they have are dated late 50's to late 60's.

I was hoping someone here might have had this collection set, as they called it and could have told me if there was an album that was part of it. The letter in the package talked about all you needed to start stamp collecting. But it did not list what was in the original kit.

The one thing I am finding is that they kept almost all their Kenmore Stamp catalogues, as well as old newsletters and lots of other stuff. So the task of what is good and important for me is taking different roads.

I still have 2 other boxes to go through right now, and maybe more in the future.

If you look at the sheet, it refers to its being for "albums, scrap-books and display", i.e. there wouldn't have been a specific album for these stickers.

Yes, I saw that, but I was talking about the stamp set that was in the package.

To me, it would seem odd to call it a starter set without some type of book or album.

I know when I was 12 and got a starter set from Scott's stamps, it did have an album with it, hinges, a magnifier, a list of country names, some loose stamps, and a small instruction book.

Anyway. Thanks, everyone, for your input.

This is similar to the HE Harris items which I would purchase at the local Woolworth's with my paper route $$. The packets would go for $0,15 to $1.00 and provide significantly minimal value stamps (from everywhere) These were targeted towards young beginner collectors, with simple inexpensive albums to compliment the hobby beginnings. (I also believe they were part of a campaign of dealers to market 'approvals' by mailing in a coupon found on match books or in comic books). HE Harris, Mystic & others did major approval programs. If you wanted the items sent, you paid, if not you sent them back. Most approval programs started with the 'free with approvals' catch. It's till goes on today with AMOS/LINN'S advertising offerings.

Saw this interesting "Kings and Queens" sheet on ebay today with a major black color shift.
