From the Metropex program in 1970. At one time there were
14 retail stamp collecting stores in the Twin Cities, and this doesn't even include stamps and supplies sold at Woolworths and hobby stores. Even Target used to sell stamp hinges. Does anyone remember these stamp dealers? I remember Hamernick's the best. I took quite a few bus rides to paw through the cardboard box of cheap US stamps. Now there aren't any classic stamp retail stores left in Minnesota (although we do have an awesome supply store and auction house- Golden Valley Stamps) and the closest one is probably Des Moines or Omaha.
