@bfranton - Thank you for your kind words. I am glad you enjoyed it. Yes, it is a hi-res file so it will take a bit of time to load. I have now uploaded another one you can load too if you like. It is a Czech stamp with a photo of Picasso as seen below. If you click on the following link though you can see it in full hi-res with all the detail:

@Bujutsu - Interesting. I did not realize there are different varieties of this stamp. Are some of them more valuable? Scott does not mention anything about it.

Hey stampgal, no problem at all. You didn't muscle in on anything. In fact that whole Italian series from 1950 is very beautiful. There are 17 in the set. Unfortunately I have only about 9 of them and only 2 of them are in mint condition of the ones I have. #565 of the girl standing in the hemp field has really spectacular green/blue colors. Possibly I will shoot it later and upload it.

I didn't know there were 17, I think I have them all, that's exciting! They are certainly a very stylish set and beautifully designed. Very 1950s, very Italian!

Wow, lucky girl to have all 17. Are they minted? I would love to see them all. Scott only shows one out of the series.

Actually there are 19 in the Italian Provincial Occupations set. There are several sets on e-bay. Perhaps Rodney or some other kind person might put up pictures of them all for posterity.

I guess my math is off :) I thought there were only 17. Anyway, would love to see them all. Would be fun if Rodney would do that.

Check this stamp out, by Mezzana,
King Victor Emmanuel 3rd
it would have to be the best stamp produced in the world in 1938
Beautifully balanced, exquisite engraving, rich and deep colour,
Printed by the Government printing works in Rome,
this is the printer and designer at the top of their game.
The nearest of the rest may be the key plates of the Caymans or Uganda, and in design perhaps the Commemorative of France
for King George 6th's visit.
The rest wallow far behind.

Thankyou, rod222!!
I DO have 17, I am missing the 200L and the 55L. Now where did I put that wish-list
Mine are not mint, some have heavy cancels, but they always catch my eye and hold my attention as I flick through the pages.
Do you have any other examples by this designer? Would love to see...
