Hey Folks,

I found a very odd copy of the 2002 Queen Elizabeth stamp 1932. The top stamp in the image is what is shown in the catalog. The stamp below is the one I am curious about. I don't want to jump to the "missing gold ink" conclusion, but I can't find an image of that stamp online. The colors are off in the image of the queen as well as the missing gold... Chemically altered? Sun bleached?

I am open to opinions.

The top one issued Jan2, 2022 appears to be a normal #1932 with gold maple leaves all over background cancelled late usage. The bottom one , from what I can make out from the image appears to have the gold leaf outline still on leaf itself but cleaned or may have suffered from excessive light exposure? Even the ribbon royal blue color has lost its deep color. Will require expertization to be sure its genuine.
Also see #1987 issued in 2003. Listed as purple.

Edit: spelling correction

We have seen many of this 'variety' at the Greene Foundation Expert Committee meetings and, in almost every case we were able to prove that the stamp has been "creatively altered".
