Ludwig Hesshaimer (1872-1956) was an austrian graphic designer and etcher. He was an avid stamp collector and designed many stamps, particularly Austrian stamps. None of which were accepted by Austrian Post. Out of frustration he emigrated to Brasil. There he faded into obscurity, but several countries have since issued stamps in honor of him. Proofs of his essays exist and sell from 10 to 150 bucks (depending on greed of the seller)
Original, signed artworks from Hesshaimer fetch quite good prices. However your example is just a copy of an original (apparently at least 200 of these existed at one time). I could not find another example of this "Baseler Taube" item. Selling it would be difficult I guess, maybe to a Hesshaimer fan.
