Is this stamp a Revenue stamp? It is similar in design to Scott O58-O71, but the characters in the bottom box below the oval are different.

Sorry, I've edited this a couple of times, because the color isn't clear to me, but Iran Scott #O62, I believe. You are in the right series.

If you are interested in Iranian revenues, I can recommend Sasan Baharaeen's and Gordon Brooks' Revenue Stamps of Iran which was published in 2003 (don't know if they've done an updated edition since then).

If you look at ebay or Hip for an Iran O62 the Arabic letters in the white box below the oval are totally different than the writing in the white box on the stamp picture that I have provided. That is why I am asking the question, not because of the colour.

I pulled this image of O60-O62 off line and the text looks just the same to me.

Please look at the bottom of the stamp. There is a white box that has 3 Arabic letters in your scans that look almost like 3 , ,. Can you confirm that in that box the Arabic letter that looks like a 3 has 2 dots at the top left of the character? If that is the case then I agree and I probably have an over inked copy.

PMStamp, yeah, I was looking at that text all along. As I said, it looks just the same to me, not even sure what you mean by being 'over inked' in this case.

Thanks. It must be my eyes. To me the first character looks more like an 8 than a 3 on my stamp. It could be the cancellation at that spot that is giving me this effect. Problem solved. Thanks for your help.
