Every once in awhile, I modify my saved ebay searches to screen out the worst of these "sellers". Only works for a short while, though, until someone else comes out of the woodwork.

Best not to click on any of their offerings, as the ebay logic may think you are actually interested in said item, and show others like it in the list of "you may also be interested in these".

I used to enjoy going onto ebay / stamps and viewing offerings sorted by Highest prices first and seeing all the rare stamps I can appreciate but never afford. Yes, there was an occasional Elvis FDC that someone thought was worth a ton of money but, for the most part, there were plenty of rarities to view. Now, about haft the high priced material is junk. Someone was offering a 3c used stamp from the 1930s for $47,000 and a Canadian seller was offering a cut square from the 1960s for $71,000. ebay seems to be happy collecting their posting fee for these items but I hope nobody is cashing out their life savings and buying this material. For the most part, the stamps are worth far less than the shipping cost! Free enterprise at its worst.

There is no listing fee - you get a certain number of free listings every month - at least on ebay USA...

I beg to differ. I have been on ebay since 1999 and I DO pay listing fees most of the time. I also have FAR fewer hits and sales. And when I DO sell something, they whack me with even MORE fees.

Things were much better when ebay charged listing fees. They were based on starting bid. They'd go broke with these crazy listings. And to the guy who said he still pays listing fees, you're doing something wrong. When I sold on ebay I never paid listing fees

I'm not the one doing the selling, personally, but "we" aren't paying ebay listing fees, either.

I suspect, but do not know, that the people in this world who are successful at laundering money aren't paying ebay's final value fees?
