I don't know much about stamps and my father who was polish gave me his entire collection. There is about a book and a half worth of stamps. One that I found interesting is a complete sheet of sputnik/explorer 1 full sheet with an certificate. If anyone could help me see if I have anything cool here and estimate of the value? Thank you!

Great little starter collection. Some mint from 80's, the used majority look to be cancelled to order, to sell to collectors, judging by the corner cancellations, used to cancel 4 at a time; and probably still would have gum on back. I did not check them all but most appear regularly with no great value, but great for starter.
As for the souvenir sheet- listed in Scott catalogue- 1977 Dec 28 # 2248a Souvenir sheet of 6 catalogue value $2.40

States- 20 years of space conquest. No 2248a contains 6 # 2248 (2 tete-beche pairs), and 2 labels, one showing Sputnik1 and "4.x.1957," the other Explorer 1 and "31.1.1958."

For clarity- Tete-beche means the same stamps side by side but turned 180* the opposite way.

There's also some stamps from the prewar period.

Nice streamlined steam loco on a 1 zloty stamp- very Art Deco! Polish film poster design from the Communist period has a really high reputation- the designers were allowed a lot of freedom.

To the point, very common Polish stamps with minimal retail value. If you don't collect and don't intend to collect you could donate them to a child who is interested.
