Thank you for showing your ship mail postmarks - I particularly like the 'Posted Ship Side" Sydney cancellation.

Ship mail cancellations can be found on Australian stamps right up to the decimal era, so I'm hoping in this thread that we can see the early ones that were used on stamps from the colonies and states of Australia up to 1913 when the Kangaroo stamps were issued.

It is also interesting to see (as Bobby De La Rue mentioned) how the usage of particular cancels used on state stamps continued post 1913.

A couple of excellent Ship Room 2, Sydney, 1913 cancellations on NSW halfpenny pair and halfpenny kangaroo stamps.

The papers were in Tamiami's Sydney cancellation collection. See Abacus 234, lot 525.
