How odd that both stamps have a straight edge (north on envelope, right side of stamps in normal position) in what appears to be the exact same plane. How did that happen?

Thank you for noticing that. The lesson to be learned here for me is: never scan anything first thing in the morning when you're not quite awake. Let's see if this looks better.

Ernie - Makes more sense now. Nice cover by the way! The F1 is one of my very favorite stamps.
