Check out the back of this stamp. This was clearly stamped on the back with an 0080 or an 0800. Could this be a counting mark? What does it represent?

I found this cancel among my kiloware. Its clearly an Official cancel, but what country or state would it be from?

The Berlin stamp is a coil stamp and the number is a control number. I'd have to check a catalogue to verify that it applies to this stamp, but generally these coil stamps with control numbers are collected in strips of five with the number on the middle stamp.

You can see that the top and bottom are cut uniformly, while the sides are rougher.

Lagos is in Nigeria. At one point, it issued its own stamps, but in 1927, it was no longer issuing stamps.

The official paid stamp is often seen on OHMS (On His Majesty's Service) covers.

Yes, a counting number 0800 on the back of a stamp from a roll. It can either be the 800th stamp taken from the roll, or the 800th stamp remaining on the roll. That depends on the issue.
