It is typically not allowed for collectibles.

I agree that enforcement/inspection is spotty. Since the penalty for shipping items that are not allowed to be shipped by media mail is for extra funds to be paid by the shipper or buyer , it is a no-go as a serious transaction.

No professional dealer that I know of uses media mail for stamp collections. Why is that?
