That 1932 Czechoslovakian 1000k banknote engraved by Savage is beautiful! I looked it up and found that there are actually two: the 1932 note shown on this thread is P25 but a similar note was issued in 1919 and is P13. Are these identical engravings or is the earlier version engraved by someone else? Also: did Savage also engrave the illustration on the back?

Strider: I think you'll find that the engravers known will be those who engraved for many countries. Take for example Ferdinand Schirnböck. You would associate him mainly with Austria but he was the sole engraver for Argentina for many years. It is true what jjarmstrong47 said that going through these pages you will discover a wealth of information. Jorgesurcl especially has done a magnificent job in researching the Central and South American engravings. Like you, these areas were a blank page for me but I've since found that if you want to study an engraver who is really linked to these parts of the world, you could try José Moreno Benavente who, although being Spanish by birth, has engraved many stamps and almost exclusively for Chile.

AKPhilately - This is what http://www.papirovaplatidla.cz/bank...ovky-i-emise says about State note P13 (1919) :
Autor = creator(s) // the designer(s) / engraver(s):
ateliér tiskárny = printer's (ABN Co. - N.Y.) studio
"Žena s glóbem" podle kresby Alonza Earla Foringera = "Woman with Globe" based on a drawing by Alonzo Earl Foringer
na rubu použit obraz "The Reapers" od George Fredericka Cumming Smitiele (sic!) = on the reverse: the drawing of "The Reapers" by George Frederick Cumming Smillie
rytina: Robert Savage = engraved by Robert Savage

This is what http://www.papirovaplatidla.cz/bank...ankovky-nbcs says about banknote P25 (1932):
Autor = creator(s) // the designer(s) / engraver(s):
s drobnými korekturami použit obraz 1000 Kč - 15.4.1919 = the design of the 1000 Kč State note of April 15, 1919 with minor modifications was used.

In my humble opinion, the "minor modifications" were those made to the inscriptions, mainly.

That vignette by Charles Skinner is amazing! It passes the face test - well-proportioned faces, each about the size of the head of a pin.!

I received this miniature sheet from the Czech Republic recently and I would like to add it to the database. Unfortunately, to do that I need to know the Gibbons catalogue number and would also like the Scott number but my catalogues don't reach to 2013 when this was released.

This was issued to commemorate the Battle of Leipzig where Napoleon was defeated by a group of nations under the command of Field Marshal Prince Filip Karel Schwarzenberg. The battle followed the Battle of Chlumec where Napoleon had already been defeated by Czech troops and so is an important battle in Czech history.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Leipzig

The miniature sheet was designed by Zdenek Ziegler reproduces an 1817 painting by Johann Peter Krafft and the actual stamp has added highlights, engravied by Václav Fajt. Here is a close-up of the stamp.

If anyone can supply the catalogue numbers I would be grateful.

jjarmstrong47, that is a great looking souvenir sheet, thanks
for showing it.
Looks like 1 colour (black) engraved and multicoulored offset.
Scott number is 3588 but can't help with the SG#.
