To open Pandora's box most likely - I have a question or 2.... Im starting to catalogue a small handful of 2d blue, QV, white lines and am curious - I have a few strips of 3 and 5 stamps and the catalogue lists prices for pairs and blocks. What to do? Im trying to get a fair market value to put in the image notes just for my records. What to do?

Maybe a silly question - but is the value the same for a "strip" of 4 vs a "block" of 4 ? Catalogue reads blocks... Some examples:

Blocks of four and strips of four are different. Unless special listings are made for the strips (rarely), the strips are usual valued as this many pairs and a single at auction.

As the strips grow longer, they may become rarer and the price might not be that of x pairs and a single but higher. Of course, demand will become rarer as well, so it may take longer before you can get that price. Blocks, indeed, tend to command a higher price than strips of an equal number of stamps. However, a strip of twelve might be more valuable than a block of twelve, as it will have a full line of stamps.

For GB imperforate line-engraved, margins are important. The second stamp has a narrow margin at bottom left for stamp two and a defective margin bottom right. At top, all stamps have defective or narrow margins. This strip will make nowhere near five times the single stamp.
