I recently stayed at a hotel in Charlotte, the Ballantyne.
I was pleasantly surprised when I encounted nearly all the hallway and room art was philatelic in nature.
Here are a few sample!

They must have been on a budget because that is underwhelming to say the least.

Some people are just never satisfied. It's hotel art, not an award winning collection. It's meant for non collectors to enjoy seeing something different, not for experienced collectors to make snide remarks about.

yeah, and if there was something of value in the display someone would complain about the loss of the item to philately. One of my other hobbies is woodworking, and I remember reading on a message board someone complaining that they were in a Cracker Barrel and one of the old tools used as a decoration on the wall was a collectible variety and it was now ruined because they drilled a hole through the tool to mount it to the wall.

It's a nice attempt at something different and I am glad the hotel was brave to do this. The two neatly displayed groups make sense to us. The two scattered collages, as I said, are nice attempts but were not well done. I like collage art and these two could be much better with the material shown. But. it's still nice to see postal material displayed in a public space.
