This one in my inherited collection is unusual. Is having two different stamps notable?

Generally most FDC have one issue per cover with some exceptions like Christmas sets and centennial, etc. I would say what is most important here is the cachet as that is what is called a Replacement Cover. They are issue for a variety of specific reasons, sometimes with a note attached explaining why (example, the original was lost or damaged when mailed to a collector). They sell at a premium. Most replacement covers are in the $10-50 range generally.

OK thanks for that. Replacement covers are a rather interesting branch. Mine does not have an insert.

The two stamps on your first day cover happen to have been issued on the same date. This has happened a few times over the years in Canada.

In this case, someone asked for a replacement of a damaged first day cover that they had received which contained both stamps.

I see both stamps commemorate the centennial of the province and territory so I guess that's why they were released on the same day.
