Scott Numbers For A Few Pages In Leuchtturn US 1979

As a relatively recent collector using the Leuchttum 1979 (copyright) US album. Pages 4 (1861/66) and 5 1867) are puzzles when I try to figure out the Scott number equivalents for the stamps on those pages. Has anyone created something like a page with all of the Scott numbers on them? Thanks in advance for any help

If you can show images of the pages, I can make suggestions. It's possible that not every stamp is covered by the pages, so some of the spaces might have multiple options, especially for that era. I have a 1978 Scott National for my main U.S. collection and it doesn't have all the spaces for the major numbers you can find in newer catalogs. I have created my own Steiner-based pages for my more expanded U.S. collection. Doing that let's me customized to what I collect. For example, I don't include special printings.

With a couple of exceptions, Page 4 includes Scott 63 to 78 and Page 5 includes Scott 79-101.


Yes, and some Scott-listed shades are not included in the Lighthouse album, yet some rare shades are included. For example there is no space for 70a the 24-cent brown lilac (CV $325) or 78a the 24-cent grayish lilac (CV $425), but there is a space for 70c the 24-cent violet (CV $2,250), and 78c the 24-cent blackish violet (CV $16,000).

Instead of being tied to the album, in a couple of instances I have ignored what the album wants me to put there and instead used the available spaces to mount the stamps and shades that I have. Then I write in pencil the catalog number and shade on the page below the mount.

Are there any that you are particularly puzzled by, or is just the sheer task of enumerating so many shades and grill varieties intimidating?
