I was wondering if anyone has seen any nice stamps of the English flag?
I saw the A515 type stamp sheet in Scott which is kind of nice. Scott 2317 is kind of nice too, but I really like the one in the upper right corner of the A5515 sheet.
Thanks. Marc

Just to clarify, as I don't have images of the stamps you described, are you looking for the English flag, i.e. red cross on a white ground, or the UK flag, i.e. the Union Jack? |

The Cross of St George is the true flag for any loyal Englishman. The Union Flag ( or Jack, or "Butcher's Apron" as my Welsh friend calls it), is the second flag Englishmen respect.
To stay on topic, I don't know of a really good stamp. I'm sure LB will correct my lacking knowledge! |

As a Scot, I'm going to keep quiet on the issue But I will try to find stamps with whichever flag it is you're looking for! |

Feel sorry for the Welsh. As a Principality, they weren't included in the Act of Union, and are therefore not represented on the Union Flag at all. Believe me, they have looooooooong memories! |

I got this whole sheet on a parcel in 2002. Not even from a stamp collector. Thanks are due, I think, to the Postmaster/mistress at the time! Stampgal - trying to get in before Londonbus |

On second thoughts, maybe the canny Postmaster/Mistress realised he/she probably wouldn't sell many English World Cup stamps in Perthshire, and was just trying to use them up... |

Nice stuff everyone and thanks. Yes, it is the British flag I am looking for. The ones on those stamp sheets are what I had in mind. Cheers to everyone who responded on my request. |

Beautiful World Cup sheet, 'gal. Too new for my tastes (in theory, at least), but still very nice. |
