I_Love_Stamps, I have a lot of respect for 'Tonymacg' and his expertise in that Field of collecting. He has unique and beautiful items, so his protecting that area from any fakes has my full support. |

Well, I've just sent them alerts about 10 lots of Indian States they're selling currently. All but one stamp are fakes; the one that isn't a fake is a worthless remainder.
Maybe they know their US stuff. They certainly don't know very much about some other places. |

Tonymacg, I was checking out 'Stukatz Stamps' lately wondering IF there's a connection with 'Ny Stamps'. Both had alternate monthly ebay's EFO listings of 228 1b Bee with Black missing at a starting bid of approx' 99c, BUT, p&h sucking $30 out of the unsuspecting. Including P&H, Stukatz Stamps sold the November Bee for $73. I wonder if there's a full sheet being sold off one at a time ($7000+) |

We have been picking this ones bones for a while...i doubt I would win anything from NYStamps..they have a following and bid things up way too high..plus they threaten me with almost a 9 percent New York State tax..which I have never paid...heres what works for me...i do best with small dealers who average one page of items on ebay..they are not well known and sometimes will get zero bids on a country collection...i have picked up country collections for 15 percent of catalog including shipping from these types when I am the only bidder or see it freshly offered for "buy it now"..If you prefer to go with sellers like NYStamps or Roecy..thats fine !! |

To be fair to nystamps, I've had a couple of responses to my warnings to them. They've pulled some lots, and are looking into another that I flagged as doubtful. This is as it should be, and I'm very happy with the response from nystamps so far. I think it goes back to a point I made earlier: we should stick to our knitting. Somewhere, in a shoebox in a dark cupboard, I have a few 19th century US stamps. I'm certainly not going to get hold of a Gibbons Stamps of the World and list them up on ebay. Better to leave the specialist stuff to the specialists, and not try to cherry-pick. |

ha.. stu.. welcome to SCF
ILS.. good luck with NYstamps, they are one of the guys who just throw stuff at the wall to see what sticks. Becuase they refund prices if you don't want the stamp, Their feedback stays good. But they sell a lot of crap and misidentified and altered stamps.
I have bought from them before, but I was very sure what I looked at. buyer beware. |

This is an interesting and ongoing thread to read. I've never dealt with nystamps, but am often drawn to what they have to offer. I'm always put off by the shipping charges, which I think are exorbitant (for one or two stamps) and vary wildly. At time the shipping is far greater than the selling price of the item. |

I have bought several lots over the past 5+ years, and all have been saisfactory. I have noticed that they are offering many more individual lots "from collection", so I think they are doing much more "cherry picking" than in the past when collections were sold intact. |

Once again the key to buying Stamps for anyone or anywhere is that knowledge is power. I have bought 3 single stamps from them, all 3 were stamps with no varieties so there is no confusion. The last purchase was a US Parcel Post so there was no mis-identification to be aware of. All 3 purchases were delivered as advertised and they do provide a decent scan of the front of the item being sold. That being said, 3 purchases does not qualify me to make a judgement on the sellers ethics, but with any purchase....do your homework. |

Both nystamps and roecy are good sources for discount postage, often with better mint items mixed in, and sometimes in expensive albums, which do not get "figured" into the total.
Last week, I ran a lot up to 79% of face but one other bidder apparently saw what I saw, and would not give up. I let him have it. Having bought about 10 lots between the two sellers, I am satisfied with both, roecy a bit more responsive and upfront. I consider the postage charges about average.
I have not bought singles or sets from either seller. |

doug2222 Thanks for your post. I've been watching Roecy and Nystamps for a long time. Good to hear from someone who tried them. Daniel |

I won three single-stamp lots from NYStamps -- 1 in December 2011 and 2 in January of this year. In each case, the items were delivered promptly and were as had been described -- and the shipping was free. |
