Even though they are Cinderellas, they are pretty nice looking (and I haven't seen too many of them):

Thanks to the influence of some on this forum who shall remain nameless, I find myself acquiring more and more of these exhibition labels. My latest acquisition is the set of four issued for the BALISEA event in April, 1934.

Thanks Rod.

I wish I had been able to identify who designed/printed these labels and find background on the Association.

According to Fields-Picklo BALISEA issued their exhibition labels from 1934 through 1940. The 1934 is also known with inverted centers. They don't list any info about the designer or printer.

Rod, that info is from the Fields-Picklo list which is a listing of their collection of philatelic labels and the prices they paid (not catalog value) for the items. They built a outstanding collection as the list is 737 pages at a 7.5 font size.

Russ and Rod,

Thanks for the info. That Fields-Picklo Catalog is a great resource -- there is an online version courtesy of Rigastamps at http://www.cinderellas.info/philexpo/intro.htm

That's too funny, IJ.
One would be well informed, as one cycled into the stationary chestnut.

Thanks Russ.
Blair (like 22crows) is/was a master researcher,
A Canadian, and a very passionate Philatelist,
I miss very much his vast knowledge, havn't seen him around for a while.

BALISEA also issued a label for the 1939 NY World's Fair:

I can find surprisingly little on the internet about the organization after 1939-1940. Did they disband after that period? Does anyone know?
