This is the standard meter label from Thailand Post: First number on the left is the originating postcode, with date of posting below. I am not sure what the other numbers on the left indicate. All post that goes through the standard counters in a post office is processed with a meter label. If you want to use stamps, you have to buy them from a separate counter. |

I consider myself very fortunate to have obtained this cover from Mexico. The meter pays for the registered rate. The cover was sent from Mexico City to Akron, OH via St. Louis, MO. The Front: The Back: Edit: It is also censored. Nice registration seals on the bank. |

Registered cover sent in 1939 from Kaunas, Lithuania to Prague, Czechoslovakia. Very rare. |

Here's one I've never seen before: a United Parcel Service meter. Technically, it is not a "postage" meter, as the package was not carried by a postal service, but, still, it will have a spot in my collection. Cheers, Robert |

I think the UPS could be considered an alternative, private postal system. Hardly the first one in this country. |

It is hard to clearly see the poorly inked red meter on this red cover. It is dated March 24, 1983 I can't make out the city, though. If anyone can read Vietnamese, could you translate the city name in the sender's address? I'll post a better image if anyone can translate it. |

Does this count? Some of these "custom" stamps you see, say on the Royal Mail website, have me confused... |

Hi Nells, That, nice as it is, and I think it is nice also, is an ATM stamp or Post and Go like the ones from GB.
It is not a meter because there is no date on the stamp. Meters allways have a date. |
