However I can give you the longest inscription
in a postal date stamp:

(Used in the 1960's)

The only larger name I call, is the Thai name for Bangkok.
That goes for weeks.

But you forgot, that these stamps were overprinted - it is the issue for east front.

A hill near Porangahau, south of Waipukurau in southern Hawke's Bay, New Zealand.

It is often shortened to Taumata for brevity. It has gained a measure of fame as it is the longest place name found in any English-speaking country, and the second-longest place name in the world. Translates roughly as "The summit where Tamatea, the man with the big knees, the slider, climber of mountains, the land-swallower who travelled about, played his nose flute to his loved one".

Two contenders that are so long that the country name must be in fine print:

The Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya

United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (in three languages)

The first name that popped into my head (before I read the thread and realised that I am truly an amateur at this ) was "the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia"
