I have no idea! These are the 1994 wildlife peel and stick stamps, in a strip of six, overprinted for a South Australian exhibition - Noarpex 98. I've never seen them before.

They have then been overprinted again, with what looks like a handstamp, again around the exhibition, but with a car and a reference to 48-215, which, as any Australian knows, is the first Holden, model FX, built in 1948. Hence it's a celebratory 50th anniversary overprint.

Can anyone shed any light on these? They're definitely not official.

Nice ones Jubilee,
South Australia (maybe held at Port Noarlunga)

This is a Souvenir First Day Cover which commemorates the 50th Anniversary of Holden as well as the NOARPEX 1998 Philatelic Exhibition and the cover has been postmarked with the First day of Noarpex Pictorial Postmark as well as the Woodville Holden Pictorial Postmark. Cover was also carried in the Special Holden 48-215.128. Item is in excellent condition Send me a message if you have any other questions

Rod, you never cease to amaze me! Your info means that these probably aren't cinders at all, but CTO's with an exhibition postmark.

Thanks for your help

I don't share your optimism Jubilee,
Philatelic Exhibition promoters have a wicked history
of placing non authorised overprints on stamps.

BTW I confess I knew nothing about them, I just found
them on the web.
