Can someone help me identify this stamp? I've searched Algeria in my catalog and cannot seem to locate it. Could I have the country wrong?

Thanks. Now that I have the date, I believe it's Scott #294. In my old catalog, that value stamp was not illustrated, which made it tough for me to find.

Using SOTW 2011

1. Algeria SG499(1967)

2. France SG479(1930) [not quite so simple]

3. Algeria SG569(1970)

Ohhh Man!
You make it lookl so simple.
So it was France! Goodness me.
Some days one is better off staying in bed, and reading a good book.

fyi Rod. That French stamp confused me too, when I found one last year. There was a identical issue released in Algeria (SC 61-67) at the same time, but it reads 'Postes Algerie', where the French issue reads 'Centenaire Algerie'.

Thanks James, what a nice chap you are :)
It adds to the problem by also being a centenary of Algeria
as an Algerian issue, but not described on the stamp.
Therein lies my error, when I used face recognition
I kept seeing "Algerian Centenary" in the text,
and just assuming it was an Algerian Stamp.

Be a nice issue for a clubs stamp quiz.
