Postcard Question (Probably Easy)

I got this postcard a couple of weeks ago. Just now I am noticing that the top margin was perforated for separation. Were these sold in perforated packets or sheets?

There are two possibilities - (1) many postcards since 1875 were issued in sheets, according to the note in the Scott Specialized catalog at the start of the Postal Card section. However, (2) this item was issued in 1988 as UX120 and was also issued as a "message and reply card" as UY39. These items were issued as pairs with perforations between the two cards. The sender would fill out one half and mail both for 15 cents. The receiver would separate the unused portion and send a reply back. This is probably half of UY39.

Might have been part of a booklet of postal cards. The new scenic America came out in booklet form.
