Always something new to see,
it's amazing.
A great geography lesson, as each stamp is posted
I try and visualise the country and where it lies on the globe
and what the flag looks like.
It's harder than you would think.

Lets see if we can't find some more.
Where's Gussyboy when we need him?
These are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
I tend to do what Rod does... in terms of geography, but never thought about visualizing the flag too.

The flag is the hard part,
Tristan de Cunha, the pimple in the ocean
is reasonably easy to recall due to its remoteness,
the flag has two obvious bits, the jack of the union
and a sailboat, that's the best I can do.

A stamp with an image that any young
boy could get lost in imagination of the romance of adventure..

Nice stamps. Thanks to all for posting. Thumbing through mine, mostly coming across tall ships on US issues. May post images just for completeness, but wow! Some cool things to see here...

In 1534, Jacques Cartier made his first voyage to Canada. In 1984, a fleet of tall ships sailed to Canada as part of the anniversary celebrations. A stamp was issued to commemorate the event.

There is a Unitrade listed plate variety for this stamp - position 2 on every sheet has a flaw at the rightmost porthole, and this stamp is known as the "double anchor hole" variety.

Hooray for catalogues that list plate varieties! I'm still hoping that someday the U.S. will catch up - I'm sure there must be a huge number of this kind of variety on American stamps, given that there have been over 5000 stamps issued.
