Are there any specialized books or catalogues dealing with Maximum Cards? Would you categorized them under covers?

Thanks,

George

Some would insist it is a field all to itself -- maximaphily!

A philatelic acquaintance of mine, Dorin, specializes in this. You can check out some of his stuff at the links below. Also, if nobody here knows of any print references, you can contact him and ask him directly.

[EDIT: I think the last link may be against Forum rules, I faintly recall some phrase somewhere in the fine print, so if it disappears, you'll know why (and SORRY). However, the first 2 links should be sufficient.]

I've always considered Maximum Cards an aspect of cover collecting. From the US, this is one of my favorites, though not as colorful as the newer material, but it's nearly 50 years old now (so these type of cards have been around for awhile):

The "problem" with these sort of side collections is (a) proper storage; and (b) what to do with them when you acquire an abundance or duplicates (as most cover collectors don't have much interest in them on the secondary market.)

I store all my maxi cards and sheets to big for a cover album in a photo album.. these are big photo albums with 3 pockets on each page. if a cover is to big then I open the space between pockets.. I can fit a full size page in them. they are much cheaper then specialty albums.. also you can get the sheet protectors a office supply store.. plastic envelope with a black page in the middle.
