Does this double overstrike precancel command any premium over the standard variety?

In the heyday of Precancel collecting Inverts & double strike, triple strikes and other various freaks did enjoy a premium. I don't now of a lot of collectors that collect that way anymore. I'm sure there are still are some.

Thanks. By the way, when was the "heyday" of precancel collecting? I thought there was some talk about precancels being recognized again as a popular stamp collecting field. Or maybe it's that I'm just one of the holdouts?

That is a point of debate. Generally it was between the was WW1 & WW2 other may say into the '70's.

Thanks again. I only started collecting stamps as a kid in the 1970's. At that time, precancels were always explained to me as being "seconds" or not as "valuable" as a non-precanceled example of the same stamp.

Since precancels were rarely affixed to what most would consider "rare" stamps, the value aspect never really entered into it for me. Maybe it's just me, but I always found it interesting to know what city/state the stamp originated from rather than just looking at a used example of the same stamp with no identification of where it may have been used.

Fast forward to 2010 and I still find that going through precancels is a fascinating sideline to stamp collecting, as I have discovered a number of towns that I never even knew existed (and even some that no longer exist) and with the aid of the internet I can find locations, populations, maps, etc., that bring all of these details into focus.
