I recently acquired 217 different first day of issues from 1972 thru 1981. They were issued from the post office and they're large pages inside page protectors. Is there still an interest in these? My plane is to sell them when I'm able.

It sounds like what you are describing are "Maxi Cards". They are listed in the Scott's Catalog. |

mark.. put them up for sale on wensy (free) or bidstart.. start at .25 each.. someone will buy them.. include the option of including the card or not. FDC's from that era are going for very little value, a new collector might buy them. |

Also, someone whom is a topical collector might be interested in them as individual covers dependant on what is available. For instance, I would like any Abraham Lincoln covers. |

Those look nice.
They seem to me that they would be attractive to a collector who had a specialized assortment of each stamp and these pages would add to the flavour.
They are not First Day Covers though. Something else. First day Of Issue commemorative page or something like that. |

These are described as "Souvenir Pages" which is what the post office used to post to announce a new stamp. Some resourceful collectors affixed the actual stamps on them and obtained a "first day of issue cancellation" as far back as 50 years ago (1960). Fast forward to 1972, and the post office started marketing them on their own as a collectible in their own right. There are a few from 1972 that command a high value; otherwise most have a modest catalog value of only a couple of dollars, which usually means that you can expect only a fraction of that value if you were to sell them. Here's a link where you can get some further information about them: http://www.stampprof.com/sp/docs/indexsp.html |

If you want to sell 200+ covers --) You need to spend a couple bucks and get something newer that a Scott 2003..... There's a Scott Specialized Volume issued each year that would help you out.

Just picked up 29 USPS Souvenir pages in padded album for $2 at the stamp club. The price was right. |
