It is encouraging to see promotion of our hobby among young people:

What a great picture that is (in the article) The young buy leaning over the stamp pages examining the stamp as close as he can get and pointing at it as if he wants to touch it.

It reminds me of being at a flea market and seeing a stamp dealer's table. I immediately went over to it and as soon as I was there and looked very interested in what he had to sell (I did) all of a sudden there were tons of other people crowding behind me to see what was so good that they were missing out on.

Humans copy or ape other humans to learn what is the best way to do something.

The idea in the photo (hats off to the photographer / composer) could be copied on a poster for use at shows to attract any young people that wander by. Put it on the side of a bus and you will have tons of people show up at a show (or shows). Or maybe it would be Facebook now or something of the sort.

I just had to copy and paste it to preserve it here. This would make a great personalized stamp too, hmmmm.

Only thing is, I think it's a girl (note the earring in the ear).

Oops. Should have worn my glasses. My apologies to all concerned.

Still, a great pic, even better with a girl, spread the stamps around, why should the boys have all the fun?

Stamp collecting wasn't cool when I was a kid, and that was a long time ago. I can't imagine what it might be like for a youth to be "outed" these days (in the USA, anyway). Although, some kids have the charisma to be different and make whatever they are doing cool. Like what Bobby Fischer did for chess.
