I just read "The philatelic truck" by Kenneth A. Wood. The story is quit fascinating to me. It's sad when you think the truck stop traveling when USA was involve in the war. We all know war is terrible but the philatelic truck left to rust... In those days I believe the vast majority didn't notice...
Do you have a sheet with gum?

Just great wt1! Another item I didn't know I needed until I saw it here.

I picked up the book on ebay and have a bid out on an ungummed issue. I couldn't find a gummed version though.

I have one of those, except I think it is the gumless version.

I won the truck lot, but it was well contested.

I emailed with the guy who listed it and he said in 45 years of collecting he's never seen a gummed sheet and doesn't believe they exit.

They exist I have one. Question is, is it OG? I don't know or care. I bought it a few years ago with a serious crease for $2.00. More for nostalgia than anything else. I remember looking at in a dealers case when I was around 7 or 8 and I fell in love with it. It was cheep so I bought it and I still like it crease and all.

I think the gum was added after they were printed. Some were made into coils and others were overprinted at Expositions and Stamp Shows between 1939-1941. Another interesting way FDR brought stamps to the masses.

Here's a little more info on the traveling exhibit.

Another mention (in an oblique way) of gummed sheets. I'd still like to see one.
