Nice shot of the HMCS Haida.

I once took a tour on board her when the ship was still anchored in Toronto. Was sorry to see it go off to Hamilton, not that I have anything against that city, but I think politics played on that move - - as it usually does.

One of my collecting interests is Canadian military mail, all eras. A lot of fascinating material to be found to say the least.

Beautiful Tribal class destroyer.

Our sister ship HMAS Arrunta, was a tribal class destroyer,
she really didn't want to leave Australia, and
sank off Sydney whilst she was being towed to japan for scrap.

We now shall always have her.

Interesting Rod

It must have been fate <G>

The HMCS Haida and a Norwegian WW2 era sub were the only 2 military naval vessels that I have ever been aboard. I was so young when I was on the submarine and can only remember red, green and yellow lights in very dark rooms :(

Thanks Puzzler!

Nice whale! With a big price too!
As for modern postmarks
I would be very happy to have that one!
Even though it is not a circular type. John

Spock, no I don't, I have been looking at them but no buying yet. Big fellows. I just might get out today to a Post Office though and see what they have. It is Stamp Day isn't it? (of course, every day is stamp day, or should be.)
