David,

Could you also do a scan of it with a small-sized Canadian stamp for size comparisons sake please?

That is a very nice piece on cover djd. The extra stamp for comparison really puts it all in prospective.
We had 2 jumbo stamps issued in 2004 and 2005 both $5 stamps. Called Treasures from the Archives.

I got a nice one from a dealer as well recently. John

I just saw the FDC today and the stamp in the flesh for the first time. It is Impressive. A show piece of any collection. The FDC is nice with the map on it too.

I would have bought it but the lady found some Marine Life booklet with numbers that no one had scooped up yet. She hadn't heard of numbers on them.

I think they should have put some small and large and identifiable fish swimming around it too to add to the real-life scenario type of thing and also to add to the thematic appeal, the sea. Better for selling to a wider audience then. Maybe the Bluenose sailing along over on top too.

A worthy ship Bujutsu.

HMCS Haida = 377 feet. In service 1943-2003.
Bluenose schooner = 160 feet overall length,
Blue whale = 108 feet
Ships too big for stamp!

I just mailed a parcel to my mommy in Montreal, it was just over $20 so I put on a sheet of two $10 Whales. The P.O. clerk did a nice cancel - we will see how it travelled through the mail when mommy sends the wrapper back. Hopefully no damage. Wishful thinking?
