I went to an estate auction today--spent many hours trying to wait in the shade and bid on what was listed as "an immaculate stamp collection". It was almost all FDC's. I bid and won an album of 40 first day and special covers-1981 in great condition for $20 ! That's 50 cents a piece. Plus I bid and won two envelopes full of soakers--from 1990's. The album is from the Postal Commemorative Society.

. Also included was "best Stamp Issue of 1980"-Coral reefs(4 stamp set), and Best stamp 1981 of the P.C.S. "America's Space Achievements" (8 stamp set). Lucky for me the Antique Dealers had left by then--they were bidding against each other earlier for old post cards--1907-1911--one dealer bought about 25 post cards for $185.00! What's wrong with that picture--they were really worn and some of them had no stamps or cancels.
