Need help in separating stamps from other stamps. I have performed the luke warm water bath on several stamps that were affixed to envelopes. The problem is I have some bundles of new uncirculated stamps that through the years evidently got slightly damp. I was hoping there would be a way to separate them without loosing the original glue. Maybe some type of steam application?????? And on another note, can someone recommend a particular brand of stamp mounts that would be considered the best? Not interested in hinges.
Do an Internet search for "steaming stamps" - it will allow separation without losing all the glue. You will end up with what is called 'disturbed gum.'
