Hello all,
I am definitely new to the stamp world. Like a lot of you in the posts I have inherited a collection of stamps, passed down from my grandfather who passed away in the early seventies in Germany. Most of the collection is international with some US(a lot of German), dating back to the late 1800. I would like to find out if there is any value to the collection or if it's just sentimental value. I have taken digital pictures of the collection aprox 350 pages ,some pages are covered with stamps some only have a few stamps on them. If someone would like to give me any advice to the value etc. I can e-mail you the picture in zip format .I use "Windows picture and fax viewer" on my PC which allows me to zoom in and out.
Thanks for your time,

Mike

Hello Mike,

Welcome to the stamp community!

If you could post a few representative pictures here we could immediately get a better idea of the type of collection it is. Many times by looking at several sample pages one can get an idea of overall condition of the stamps and whether only the common ones are present or if the collector "went the extra mile" to obtain the really scarce stamps. Most of the value will be in these scarce stamps and how much value will depend critically on their condition.
