I have to agree with you Trigger. I like the Christmas Island stamps you posted also. I also think the history of the island is pretty interesting.

Here's a memory from 40 years ago. J. & H. Stolow, one of our wholesale
suppliers when my father and I had our little stamp business in the 1960's,
used to send a FDC from the UN every year at Christmas time.

Though the UN didn't issue Christmas stamps, the cover always bore a Christmas
cachet, such as this one from Art Craft that includes the Stolow name at the bottom.
A simple, single panel holiday card was also enclosed in the unsealed envelope.

BTW, you might have seen the name Henry Stolow mentioned in another thread in
connection with that issue of Cinderellas for Maluku Selatan.

Connie, are you suffering from old timers disease? You posted this one on page 2. Not that I mind seeing it again.
You keep an eye on the mail box too, there is something special coming. At least we think it is special.

I'm glad I'm not the only one suffering from this disease

Apparently there's no cure but it's not deadly; of course depending on what you forget.

For the past week while browsing thru world catalogs I have seen a Triangular stamp with a cartoon type Santa. No less than four times I came across this stamp. Now I can not remember what country it was. Has anyone else seen this one or knows which one it is?

BTW, I knew I had shown that Aussie Christmas stamp on page 2--errr-sure I did--yep, of course.
But the tee shirt idea is so cool!

Thanks Triggersmob for the surprise that's coming my way!
I have an envelope with your name on it -just need to sort some more stamps to make it something special.

Trump card finally arrived.
How about this, Christmas cancellation, with Christmas Day date, with a Christmas stamp from Christmas Island on a Christmas cover posted from Christmas Island. That must be a royal flush, LOL.

The ugly ones on the cover are Bandicoot and I, (Bandicoot in the red shirt). The good looking one is Emma.

What A great Cover.
The note on top"Card only" Raises A Question.
Would that be a different rate than the regular postage rate For A Letter
I Remember When we could post a Christmas card in an envelope
and get charged a lower rate if the envelope was un-sealed.

I also remember being able to send them cheaper unsealed, but I think they prefer you seal them these days, so other envelopes don't get caught in them.
The "card only" brings the local delivery down from 55c to 50c for Christmas cards (you are not allowed to enclose anything else in the envelope), although I put $1.20 postage on these, because I was sending a whole bunch of them internationally as well.

Our pleasure, Londonbus.

There will be more landing on desks in the next couple of days.
There is only a card enclosed, so if you wish to keep the envelope intact, don't worry about opening it.
