Here are some beautiful Christmas covers courtsey of my stamp man-Philb. Thanks Phil! BTW, those Christmas Island Stamps are beautiful, Triggersmob! I have always loved the Angels on Christmas stamps. They remind me of the "Charlie Brown Christmas" where Linus says, "Do not be afraid. I bring unto you good news of great joy...." Thanks! Those are some very pretty stamps and covers. This is not a Christmas stamp per se, but I thought you might find it interesting. Emily Bissell is responsible for introducing Christmas Seals to the U.S. In 1907, she convinced local post offices to sell a seal of her own design for 1 cent each, to help the fight against tuberculosis. In 1980, on the 119th anniversary of her birth, the U.S. Postal Service issued this 15 cent stamp in her honor. Paraphrased (and more information available) from this Wikipedia article. |

That 5 cent Angel with trumpet issued 1965, SC# 1276 is one of my favorites! I think you got those Christmas stamps from me in that packet I sent you, Emma, and bandicoot? Gussyboy1 |
