I got a bill today for 35.00 for a CSA #8 (used) and a 12b(used)

here is the image of the #8

I did not expect to win this. the opening bid was $50.00 the stamp has CV of over $300.00

Very nice. That portrait of Jackson is the same as the portrait on the "Black Jack" They would make a nice pair together.

I just won my first Confederate stamps for my A.W.N. collection - $10 for these three. Are they worth it? I really just wanted the middle one. Anyone know the city of the cancel?

Yes SV the numbers match with my 1979 US specialized. I was just surprised to get this at $10 with a last minute bid. The cancel looks cool.

I've still got a CSA #2, #3, #5 and a #9 to collect,I thought I had a #9 until I looked at the thread Daryl posted and realised it wasn't right,I've just double checked my CSA stamps and so far so good, good luck all and by the look of it there are some shifty ones put out there.
regards Harry

some interesting info on the stamps above..
I had sent an email to the seller on Saturday when I got the bill, asking for a reminder of what I bought. I then found them myself, hence the post,. But today the seller emailed me saying they were in the envelope with the bill. I replied they were not, and could they check around as I had already mailed a check. They said they would find them before cashing the check... I hope they do find them..... I would have to wait along time to buy another #8 at that price.

Nice scans. Thanks
" Jackson" hence the icon
of democratic party being a donkey.
I have read on two occaisons that the US Andrew Jackson
stamp is "unbalanced" in its design,
that may be so, but I think it is one of the more
remarkable stamps of the early US, I really like it.

Not sure why that was censored, just another name for a mule
