I posted in the other thread, but it's oxidized, looks like a color changeling to me.

Looks like a true lilac from here... What we have to do is get you out to a stamp show and you really need to see these guys with your own eyes, I have been collecting these since I was in college in the mid 90s and have seen thousands, and I still can have a hard time with shades. The 61s where color plays a big part in their value are just so darn tough to buy from computer scans, you really need to see these stamps in hand to differentiate them.

It's funny, I can tell them apart pretty well in person, but online images give me fits. I looked at a few when I was at lot viewing last month at Siegel and they all look different in person then they do online.

BTW, the cancel reminded me of a Japanese one (It's not, it's not the same cancel). Unless that stamp is like $10-20, pass. You can get MUCH more attractive copies for even $50

it's got a BIN of 34.99, if I offered him 20.00 he would take it.

I was surprisingly lucid last night all things considered :)

$20 is real cheap... but...... closer to $100 might get you a reasonably attractive one, if you want some 24c stamps I can see if I can locate some for you. FWIW, IMO items on ebay etc are generally overpriced.
