Hi,

Could someone tell me if these are examples of a corner block since they have the selvage on 2 sides of the stamp.

Any help with giving my IQ a boost would be appreciated.

Lucky

Hi Lucky

A corner block would have to have at least 4 stamps, like this plate block.

I would call them corner singles, myself. I think of a corner block as a block of four (at least). If I was describing something that was other than four, I'd be specific, such as "corner block of nine."

At least that's how I'd do it...

C.

[edit...I see litho's already posted an example...even better.]

Lucky:

I got a chuckle from the second card; the sender misspelled SCENES in her line, "we see seens"

KirkS

p.s. No offense to poor spellers; Andrew Jackson said it's a d*mn poor mind that can only spell a word one way

I went ahead and scanned the front of the postcard for you KirkS so you can "see the seen" too.

Nice postcard -- you can't go wrong with a Bambi theme.

I can just imagine trying to take off in one of those, and perhaps not succeeding, which is decidedly worse!

All aspects of flying must have required a bit of nerve in those days (including being a passenger).

Cjd just imagine the exhilaration of bouncing across the waves as you take off I also wanted to fly in a Cat (Catalina) but never got the chance, instead I flu on Folkers, Electra's, Viscounts, 707's, 747's, Herc's, Caribou and Cessna's with a lot I can't remember to name so as you can see I love to fly.

regards Harry
