A nice Christmassy scent to this thread. Really nice as we enter into the December month.

For philb, if you need any help getting the 2010 Christmas stamps from Netherlands, I can help. I have a friend in Holland who sent me the stamps this year. Not easy buying directly.

This year Netherlands' stamps are really nice.

Snoopy personalized stamps

Mainstream stamp set
They have nice little frames with 10 symbols of Christmas

For other stamps from 2010 for Christmas, you can see the other thread.

Austria's 2010 stamps.

Secular stamp

Religious motif

I tried to order them but they haven't arrived after 4 weeks so they won't be on my cards.
For the Italian set below, I couldn't even place the order since their website was being silly and customer service is poor.

How about what some people consider to be the first real Christmas stamps, issued in Hungary in 1943?

These were not semi-postals or seals, but normal postage stamps.

Seasoned Greetings!

Merry Christmas to all!

Canada 1998 Christmas Angels

For a few years now Canada has come out with three stamps for all the different rates (Canada, USA and International) and then one other Christmas stamp for just the Canada rate that has a different theme than the three main stamps.

In 2005 it was the Snowman, in 2007 the Reindeer

That, if you tilt them a certain way (hard to do on a scanner, sorry for the glare off of plastic) you will see glittery snowflakes. . .

. . . and to all a Good Night!

It's Dec 6th, and in some parts of the world, that means it is Saint Nicholas Day! I couldn't find any of him, so this will have to do. Wonder if Christmas, FL actually ever sees snow.

I know I am cheating since this is not a stamp, but I thought I would share.

Er, it's a postcard. Postally used.

Wow !

This thread is well and truly alive. Great stuff everyone...makes me want to collect Christmas material !
Lovely postcard Smauggie.

Today I received my first Christmas Card. It was from a very dear friend of many years who has recently been sending me Post Boxes on Cards !
This year was no different.

Isn't it just wonderful when non-collecting buddies send appropriate things !? Why, even my taste in music was not forgotten, apart from a nifty Bottle-opener Key Ring [for my Heineken], I got this Sticker [Cinderella? ]...

On the downside, Royal Mail went and spoilt the whole shaboozle by not cancelling the Wallace and Gromit Xmas stamp !

But what's new ? I will just have to send some Gluesticks, as well as stamps, to my Mum. She can use them on Christmas Mail next year

At least one of the two stamps got a cancel !!

A nice 'A' Postage label with those lovely security slits. Which brings me to a leading Christmas question.
Why the heck do they need security slits on Postage labels ??!

Londonbus1...to waste taxpayers money obviously

Really like the cachet on that 1969 cover. Blue and white are natural wintery Christmas colors.

The printing is quite high tech too.
I wondered this myself when they hand them out willy-nilly.
There doesn't appear to be any security in the printing.
